About the Club and its History
2009 Marks Spokane Figure Skating Club's 76th Anniversary!
Spokane FSC ("SFSC") was organized in 1934 and is a member of U.S. Figure Skating, which was founded in 1921. SFSC is also a member of the Pacific Northwest Inter-Club Association ("PNIC"). PNIC meets quarterly and promotes a unified skating community, as well as hosting an annual competition during the summer for skaters registered with U.S. Figure Skating.
SFSC has been instrumental in the formation of a number of ice skating clubs on the Pacific Coast and in Canada. Since its formation, the club has promoted and participated in all aspects of amateur figure skating. Some of our skaters have represented Spokane as members of the US Figure Skating International Team competing in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Our membership is primarily comprised of people from the Spokane area, but we also have a number of members from Idaho, as well as from other parts of the United States.
