About Us
Spokane Figure Skating Club (SFSC) was organized in 1932. Shortly after, in 1934, SFSC became a member of U.S. Figure Skating, which was founded in 1921. We have a rich history of developing successful skaters who are well rounded and who achieve their goals both on and off the ice. SFSC is also a member of the Pacific Northwest Inter-Club Association ("PNIC").
SFSC has been instrumental in the formation of a number of ice skating clubs on the Pacific Coast and in Canada. Since its formation, the club has promoted and participated in all aspects of amateur figure skating. Some of our skaters have represented Spokane as a member of the U.S. Figure Skating International Team competing in the United States, Canada, and Europe. We are proud to have the 2022 US Figure Skating Championship Gold Men's Adult National Champion Dean Wiles as a skater and a valued member of our coaching staff and club board.
Our membership is primarily comprised of people from Washington and Idaho, as our home ice rink is located in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho (Frontier Ice Arena); the rink is approximately 30 minutes from Spokane, WA. We also serve our community by providing skating lessons at seasonal rinks, including the Numerica Skate Ribbon in downtown Spokane, and CDA On Ice in Coeur d'Alene.
SFSC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and as such, donations to the club are tax-deductible to the extent of IRS laws. Click here for our IRS Affirmation Letter.
